Hi
I am after accessing an online technical guide and/or decision makers guide relating to variation applications.
I am corresponding with my MP who is extremely helpful and has been liasing with those further up the chain but I want to have my facts right and be able to refer him back to them....
If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
Thanks

You need the literature referred to as "Orange Volumes'
A place to start: www dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/law-volumes/the-law-relating-to-child-support/
Sorry cant to links - add http and dot.0 -

Thanks for the quick response, I've had a look but I need something a bit more straightforward - I'm afraid I get completely lost and confused in that sort of thing. I know it's law and you have to refer to it when you need to be precise but I find it hard to understand the way it's written......
Anyone any other ideas ?

I think you should present your case to NACSA for comment. This should help you prepare the bundle you hand to your MP.
I know its 50 squid, but it saves you having to study for a degree in CSA.0 -
OP, can you outline your circumstances a bit more? If so, I may be able to offer a bit of advice on variations. PM me if you'd rather.0

Thanks Missbunbury I have pm'd you.
Basically I am trying to find out if there is any way that the part of a compensation package that is 'Payment in Lieu of Lost Earnings' can be assessed for the purposes of child support.
My MP has been advised to tell me to apply for a variation but unless I am missing something in the rules, this won't work.
I think the legislation is unfair and unjust and needs changing but I am a bit out of my depth and not sure how to go about this. I have a meeting with my MP in a weeks time.
Anyone?0 -
DMG used to be online but has been taken off.0

For anyone else that is researching variations this is the link I have been given by CSA
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001/156/contents/made
However my head is swimming as I have spent all day on this - can anyone point me in the direction of the current regulation (CSA 2) that defines 'assesable income' ? The bit that says, 'earned income, pension,' etc .
I know I have studied it before but just can't find it now !!
Thanks0 -
Found it !!
So for anyone else needing to know
The definition of assessable income for non resident parent on CSA 2 :-
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001/155/schedule/made
It covers what is, and what is not included and also covers self employed earners.

Can anyone show me, in the information on the link Claire provided, where it indicates CHILD tax credits should be used as income? Not WORKING tax credits, I can see that bit. I may have missed it although have read through a few times. It's late though.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
