I received an assessment from the revenue for 2008/9 and 2009/10 on state pension income which they knew about but did not incorporate in my tax code. They have written off the tax due under ESC19. For 2010/11 my code number was incorrect for the same reason and they have just woken up and given my employers a new tax code which means that the tax on my state pension for most of 2010/11 will be deducted from my january 2011 salary,UGH!!!! I have written to them suggesting that they write off this tax as it was their error, do I stand a chance.

Not an earthly. They've gone further than they needed to in writing off 09/10. There's no prospect of them writing off the arrears accumulating for 10/11.

But they should have organised the Code number such that arrears will be taken throughout the remainder of 10/11 ..... not just in the one month.
