Hi, just been given this company as one of the best to supply me with electricity based on my usage, but haven't ever heard of them.
Does anyone get their supply from them?

If you do a search, you'll find a number of MSE'ers are supplied by them.
They are a small (30,000 customers?), relatively new (2-3 years old?) company based in Gloucestershire."Now to trolling as a concept. .... This is my second year with OVO and I have had no problems at all. Good rates and able to see everything on line, they take note of my meter readings and reply to e-mails and the blog. I am on a fixed rate tariff which is fixed for this year 4.5% above last year. My current rate is 9.19p inc vat.0

Been with them since October and no problems so far. The only thing that came as a bit of a surprise initially was that, because I started with them just before the winter the Direct Debit was set high to avoid going into debit and will then be recalculated for the summer period, rather than staying a consistent figure for the 12 month fix. Presumably it would be different if you moved to them leading up to Spring.0

I have been using them for almost a year on a fixed tariff. Quite happy, they email back reasonably quickly to any queries I have, I submit meter readings each month and my payments are inline with my usage. Don't know how they would be with a problem as never had one yet.0

I think this has something to do with them being a small company and therefore not being able to 'fund' underpayments during the Winter months. None of the Big 6 would do this.0 -

Yes, they do have a rather unusual way of calculating monthly Direct Debit payments.
But to be fair, this is all explained on their website

(I know as I was only looking the other day as I too was considering moving to them)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... I moved to Ovo for gas & electricity in October. They have been very good so far, when I did have a problem, they were easy to contact and dealt with it on whilst I was on the phone. I like the simple pricing- one unit rate + the standing charge. Plus I'm saving money compared to my previous supplier and got some vouchers for switching.0

I have used OVO for the last year and they were good. They even paid interest on credit balances BUT.............
if you do leave them, however, be aware that they DO NOT REFUND ANY CREDIT BALANCE UNLESS AND UNTIL YOU REQUEST IT SEPARATELY.
Although there is reference to this in an e-mail that they send when you are considering changing from them, it is all too easy to overlook.0
