boots returns- taking off advantage points?

Options
I returned an item to boots which took ages to show back up on my bank statement but they dont seem to have taken the points back yet? Is it likely they have forgotten to do it? I am worried about using my points up now in case I end up with a 1000 point deficit! has anyone any info on goods reurned?

They have never taken points back on my returns over the years, but I don't know what their policy is.
  • Never taken them off me either - same with tesco's and other places!!! Lucky us!!

Did you return it back to the store? Did they swipe your Advantage card? If they didn't, you get to keep the points. ;)

I think they are supposed to take your points off when you return stuff, but most of the time they don't bother. :D

Ah, I'm not sure what happens with online orders.

I had an online order for about £50, which included 6900 points. The order went astray with the courier, and was eventually returned to Boots. They cancelled the order, but I kept the points! I was really chuffed, because I'd only bought the items so I could get the points!!

I've never had points removed when I've returned somethng purchase instore, either.
  • I had previously always got to keep my points when I returned things, but I took something back for my daughter recently and the assistant asked for my Ad card and took the points back! So don't assume anything. However, this was in store, not online.

They never used to, but recently whenever I've needed to take stuff back they straight away ask for my Advantage card. :(

Hello- worked in Boots for 12 years until 2005, meant to ask for the advantage card to deduct the points when returning goods in store but nothing they can do if they forget to ask for the card or you haven't got it- can hardly send you home to get it- but online it would be possible to deduct your points but not before advising you they are going to do so

  • I returned some sunglasses on Friday and they deducted my points! Not only that but she debited my debitcard (£10) instead of crediting it!! So then she credited £20 and debited £20 worth of points! Argh!
