hi im a ftb and i am 22 and been in full time employment for 4 years and currently earning £20000 per year i am considering applying for a £54000 mortgage with £6000 deposit and £2000 set aside for fees. i live with my partner and my 3 yr old but my partner is a student and therefor does not earn any money she is ok with me getting the mortgage in my own name because of my salary and ok credit.
should i do this or do it jointly?
i ask because the amount i can borrow seams to reduce when i include her.

It's probably because they need to consider affordability and three heads are more expensive to feed than one.
But I think this is a relationship question really - it is a life long commitment, and you need to decide if you are in it together, if so this period of her not earning is a mere point in time, not forever I assume0 -
Thanks if I get it in my name could I include her at a later date for instance her name put on title deeds?0
