I always go to my chemist and ask for the non-branded paracetamol and ibuprofen, they are 100ml for 90p each. Also they do a 'no flavour' range so no added false flavours for little ones who hate the taste of the medicines.0

agree with the posters saying to go for non-branded stuff, that's what we usually do. went into a (small, local) chemist a few weeks ago, couldn't believe the price of some of the branded paras on the shelf, i'm so used to paying about 30p from the supermarket for their ones! :rotfl:"Today is your day! I'm not sure if it's only in Scotland but there is the Minor Ailments Scheme in which you sign up at the chemist and you'll be able to get all these kids medicines free. Also adults entitled to free prescriptions would be able to use it I'm sure. I've used it a number of times to get cold medicines for the kids and things such as diprobase cream for their skin. Good for babies to be signed up for any colic relief stuff and cradle cap shampoo.0

Pharmacy First I think it is called, pharmacist will deal with most basic illnesses such as coughs, colds, ear aches and so on but anything that requires stronger stuff than paracetomal then you have to go to the Doctors.0

Just ask your doctor to prescripe iboprufen (or paracetamol) suspension and you get Iboprufen or Calpol for children..then it's free.0

we have a system here in liverpool called care in the chemist where you go and get free medicines for children and people on certain benefits0

Thanks OP! I have one DD who is allergic to Ibuprofen so has to have Calpol and the other who refuses to take anything that isn't orange flavoured. It can get exensive when the bugs come around!0
