I'm sorry they didn't win, but they probably wouldn't have come 2nd if you hadn't tried to help them:)0

That's such a shame, but at least you tried. It won't be much consolation, I know, but when we got married money was really tight and the whole wedding cost just a few hundred pounds. It WAS really basic, (boy, is that an understatement!) but we still had a wonderful day.
We've been married over 18 years now and are still very much in love. (Weeell, most of the time anyway! :rotfl: )
Having kind and thoughtful friends like yourself is worth so much more than money can ever buy and I wish Amanda and Tony loads of love and happiness together.

HOW is this a freebie? The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

I got married last year.
My dress £40 from M&S
Hubby & Kids suits £200 to hire
Rings - Mine £40 (was £160 ... 75%off as Index was shutting down)
- His £89 from Argos
Flowers £40 including posy
And that was it!!!!!!! We got married in Rhyl whilst we were away on a family holiday and being from Manchester it was just close enough to those there who mattered and leave those at home who didn't.
It was a fantastic day, the weather was perfect and it was the best day ever. My dad had died 6 weeks previous so a day of mixed emotions but the day went well.
So you can get married for less than £500 and still have the day of your dreams

Free voting (and a free warm fuzzy feeling inside if you treated it as a good deed done). It also would've been a great freebie to the couple if they'd won.
Maybe this could be moved over to 'gone but not forgotten' so that those who still want to chat about it can do so, and those who don't aren't prompted to criticise the thread? (Please don't have a go at me now, grey9101, I'm backing up your suggestion to move the thread.) Hope to help / keep the peace.
