Aviva Endowment

I have just re read my latest statement on an endowment with a target amount of 34,800. Statement says that current value is 20,552.53 as at may 2010. same letter a year earlier current value 20,521.61. Have paid all my premiums 62.8 per month, 753.6 so how has the cv only increased 30.92 in a year ??

Think I will probably be short of the 34.8k, anyone have any idea of what bonuses I may get when this matures on 01 June 2011??

Also Aviva in 2008 suggested that at 4% growth the policy would hit 26k, 2009 ditto but reduced payout of 22k, and in 2010 ditto growth and payout 21.7k.

I have paid all premiums for 20+ years and with a bonus thus far accrued of 6,214.53 the effective pot should be 22,040 assuming no growth. Annual bonuses stopped in about 2000.

Can anyone advise what might be going on with my policy??

investments zig zag in value. You had the impact of European crisis starting around the time you got last years statement so that would have been a negative at that time.

not without a crystal ball. However, if there are no more significant negatives on the markets between now and then probably similar or a bit higher than the current position (there is a bonus announcement between now and your maturity).

The bulk of the return potential has moved to the final bonus and that can go up and down with investment returns.
