Thank you. I am 61 and currently receive state pension, pension credit, highest rate mobility and medium rate personal care.
I am moving to be closer to my surrogate family because I can't manage the drive any more. I would love to clear my mortgage but can only afford a flat to do this and they won't allow me to keep my dog, so that's out of the question. My current mortgage is £10k with C&G and they have quoted me for my new mortgage of £25k (extra needed because of moving costs, location and renovations) but I notice when I do a mortgage comparison check they don't seem very competitive. My estate agent's broker checked her limited range of companies but said they wouldn't consider me as I currently get mortgage relief on £10,000 interest only. What I would like is a fixed rate split mortgage with £17k interest only and £8k repayment over 13 years.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.C'est la vie!0
