Just wonder how you cope with this cold weather!! Do you wear a cape or a wrap over your wedding dress? Thanks

I've ordered a felt shawl from Etsy to cover my arms, I will look for some long gloves as well. I'm the wrong shape for a bolero or anything like that.

I also have arctic microfleece stitched into my dress
I looked at capes, but all of the ones I found looked so tacky and more decorative rather than functional (and most of them had fake fur on too, which really isn't to my taste).

I got married during the worse snow that has ever been recorded in December and I wore just my dress.
No cape, no cover up, no shawl..
With the adrenaline pumping through you due to the excitement and happiness on your day- you will not feel the cold.
Only little tip I would give would be, if it does snow, get a pair of wellies for your outside shots. Your dress will cover them and your shoes will not be ruined by the snow, like mine.
Enjoy your day

My friend got married on the 18th of December, and she wore a lace cardigan type thing that matched her dress, with faux fur around the edges. She looked like the ice queen from Narnia! Stunning!!!
She said she wasn't in the slightest bit cold because she was so excited. The bridesmaids had strapless dresses with shrugs over, and they said that they were cold. I guess there's not so much excitement for them.
Oh, one last thing... all the girls wore leggings underneath their dresses!!!First date 10.2.2002

Wedding 9.4.2012

I'm sure there's an untapped market for strapless thermal vests for Winter brides (and their maids)...
Sorry I can't offer you any practical advice
but leggings, shawls and adrenaline sound like a good combination!

I got married this December and we had a foot of snow, I just wore my dress. The adrenaline was pumping so much I was warm all day! We went out for a snowball fight for our pics and I even went barefoot in the snow for the pics :-)4th December 2010 - The day I married my best friend, all that's left to do now is live happily ever after :heartpuls0

I was a november bride and echo the sentiments above, i was so excited etc that i didnt feel the cold in the slightest even if when i just had my strapless dress on.
I did have a fake fur cape though but i didnt need it0 -
I'm getting married in an ice hotel, so I'm not sure the adrenaline is going to be enough
It will be -20 outside, -5 inside and we are eating in the resturant afterwards, so will be sitting on ice blocks. Definatley needing a cover over lol!

My sister had a December wedding and we kept our other sister's (who had a March wedding) fur shrug on hand for if she got cold - this was also her 'something borrowed'. In the end she didn't need it though."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I'm getting married on an ice rink and only having my dress - my shoulders will be exposed but I'm hoping that with the excitement coupled with the heat generated from my dress that I won't feel it!
My flower girls have little bolero shrugs and my ladies in waiting say that they don't want anything for their shoulders but I think I will get them all something anyway! No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -

My daughter married in the Ice Hotel, I made her a faux fur bolero, took ages to find really good quality fabric for it, it was expensive but well worth it. she wore thermal leggings underneath her dress and moon boots! (You couldn't tell that from the photos).
The photographs are incredible, the Ice Hotel is a fairy tale setting.
Hope you are as lucky and as happy as she was.0
