Picture the senario.
I got to my local tesco this morning to fill up the car.Use the pay at the pump facility and insert my new debit card.I notice is say max fill of £99,so i think great that will do i should be able to fill up on that. The previois amount on my old card was about £59.
I lift the the deisel pump and insert it into the car.Check the reading have reset to zero on the display and proceed to squeeze the trigger to fill up.
Then there was a loud clunk from the petrol pump i must have put about 1p worth of diesel in the car.I sqeezed again but nothing. The pump had cut out.Strange i thought. Then i looked at the display.
It read £1309.59 and i'd used 1000.4 litres of fuel.
Holy crap i thought.Put the pump down and out pops the receipt.
It looks like i have been charged for the transaction.
I got the manageress fmom the office to witness the transaction and sign the receipt that there had been a fault.
I was told that the transaction would be voided at my end but i doubt it.I have to wait to see if the transaction goes through before they will refund me.
Anyone had anything similar happen to them ?
Wonder if they will DTD
Cheers
Steve

Holy carp! Thats a joke surely? I would be keeping a close eye on that. Last thing you want is the charges i would imagine that would incure for overdraft fees! :eek:Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0

Something similar happened to me at a different garage but I wasn't using the pay at pump, so I called an assistant over to see the amount and he said "how do I know you didn't put that much in?"
Errrr perhaps because the tank isn't that big!! haha
Good luck getting it sorted.0
