Hello all
Just a quickie....I am looking for some simple meal ideas that dont involve using a lot of ingredients and/or time that either:
a) I can cook in an oven at 150 degrees
or b) are fairly quick and easy on the hob.
Basically, I still live at home with parents and when it comes to cooking, we are sometimes both left wanting to use the kitchen at the same time...like tonight for example, shes cooking a casserole so I am unable to use the oven to cook something from the freezer as the temp of the oven is set to 150 degrees for the next hr and a half....hence why i need some quick and easy meals that dont involve much ingredients/cooking etc
I'm not a bad cook...when I get the house to myself I have my bf over and we cook curries, spag bol, casseroles ourselves etc...just my mum and dad prefer to cook and eat separately to me and we both lead different lives so any meal suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Hows about a Rissotto?
Cooked on the hob - onion, stock, rice and anything you want to chuck in! lol!
Or:
make some homemade burgers which you could fry?
Omelette?
Scrambled egg with ham?
Would you be able to buy/get free on freecycle maybe a slow cooker or George Forman grill to make your own meals on the tabletop?0 -
Fry chopped bacon and onion in a pan, cook until the onions are soft add tin tomatoes and herbs to taste. At the same time boil pasta and when done drain and add to tomato sauce. I used to love this quick and easy meal. Very filling too.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Macaroni cheese - cheap, filling & quick. You can be really quick by buying a bottle of cheese sauce and pasta which takes 5 mins to cook, add slice tomato, place in oven to brown over
We make ours frm scratch using cheddar & red leicester cheese.
Grate cheese. Whilst pasta is cooking, you need to make a roux/white sauce. mix some cornflour & melted butter in a saucepan to smooth paste. Add milk and bring to just below boiling, stirring constantly to ensure no lumps ( I use awhisk, works everytime
) when thickened, add dollop of mustard, and the grated cheese. Stir till cheese has dissolved. Add pepper, and salt if required.
Mix with pasta, put slice of tomato on top, and whack in oven until browned. enjoy!:D0 -
Stir frys are quick & easy too. Buy a packet of pre mix stir fry veg, a pack of sauce and some meat like chicken. Cut chicken into smallish chunks, fry off in a little hot olive oil or ground nut oil. Add stir fry veg, and maybe some noodles, and add sauce and allow this to heat through.0
