Reasonable time to wait before spending / withdrawing money?

Hi everyone

I sold a phone last week on ebay to a zero feedback buyer who won the auction in the last few minutes.

I sent it special delivery and tracked it on Wednesday and it had been delivered as expected. But, I haven't had feedback yet. I presume if they weren't happy with it then they would have contacted me by now.

My question is, how long do you think is a reasonable time to wait before I spend or withdraw the funds from Paypal?

I could really do with the money now but it would just be my luck to spend it and then they email me with a problem demanding a refund!!

I had thought about dropping them an email just to make sure all is ok, but I contacted them before I sent the phone and I also informed them when it had been sent but never got a reply from them.

Thanks in advance!

A lot of people don't leave feedback, I would just withdraw the money and assume all is well.

i sold my daughters ds on ebay, sent special delivery, checked that it had been signed for etc, never heard from the buyer again

then 6 months later paypal freeze the funds in my account as the buyer had done a chargeback, thankfully my tracking info saved my neck, just keep hold of yours :)

  • Would imagine they would have had a chance to complain if there was a problem by now, I always open and check ebay stuff the moment it arrives, My advice -

    Spend the cash! :D

    Keep the tracking!

personal experience - if theres a problem, they soon let you know!

whereas if theyre happy - some are in no rush to leave feedback.

You know they've received the item safely, I reckon you can safely spend it. Just keep hold of the proof to protect yourself

    Thank you for your replies...

Some people just don't realise the importance to some people of leaving feedback do they!

It was hearing experiences like sezzlebums' that made me a little wary of withdrawing the money - but I don't think I can wait 6 months!! will keep hold of my tracking info - thanks for that advice!

    !

Feedback though is not important as it does not protect a seller from any sort of claim.
