Congratulations backinbusiness, you must feel ecstatic, well done to you . I spoke to Payplan yesterday as it has got to the stage where we cannot deal with all our payments. I am not sure what to expect at the moment, but hopefully one day I can announce that we are debt free, it will be a long time yet, but one day

Huge congrats! I got some news from my accountant today which knocked off a nice whack from my total, which means I'm pretty close to halving my starting number; you must feel overwhelmed and very very happy!0

Thanks to all. Petepetepete - I am both overwhelmed and extremely happy. It's not been a long haul but having spent the last 18mths or so analysing spreadsheets, tweaking figures here and there and generally monitoring my finances like a hawk I hope to be able to cut myself a little slack. My attitude towards money, debt and the devil's work interest has changed completely. From paying hundreds of pounds in bank charges, late payment fees, interest etc I now begrudge paying for - well ANYTHING! My children say I am tight - I prefer the term careful! This will benefit them in the long run too I hope, as I've shared the (edited) highlights with them. It's a great feeling - what was I thinking all these years beforehand?DF0
