Need help with Lloyds - upset

:( hi all, i have been on a dmp with payplan for a year, all have played ball expect lloyds & littlewoods. Finally getting somewhere with littlewoods but today i have received a statement from lloyds re an old overdraft. At the beginning of the DMP i owed them £547 & now i owe them £647 :( my overdraft limit is £650 so i am £3 under this. I am being charged £9.26 in interest & £5 a month overdraft usage & i am paying them a grand total of £4.90. So i just phoned lloyds to speak to someone & they wouldnt really dicsuss it & said i had to get payplan to speak to them. They also said that as from next month i will be charged £48 in charges for going over my overdraft limit so £6 a day & £9.26 in interest & a final £5 overdraft usage fee so a grand total of £62.26 how is this fair that they can do this? its excessive im so upset now as it feels like im going backwards :(

Thanks
Tash

    Hi Tash

I had exactly the same problem with Lloyds and just finally coming to the end of it - 3 payments to go! My advice is to latch on to a single person; especially if they are UK based. It won't always be possible to speak to them again - it's only happened to me once however they do seem to take notice of people who have a history of liaising with them and providing details of this.

Above all, they are very hard work and it really does take an aggressive approach to them to get somewhere. I'm laid back by nature but with Lloyds they do make my blood boil. Take my experience, stand your ground and state what you are prepared to pay. They will try and bully you but they will eventually back down!

Hope this helps, good luck and let us know how you get on so we can share it with others

  • complain to the FOS, its easy to do (a quick phone call), you are in hardship and as usual Lloyds are making things worse not better. Just phone FOS helpline and some one will take your complaint over the phone. If no one complains officially these eejits just get away with it.
complain, link below for phone complaints, go for it!

    phone our consumer helpline on 0300 123 9 123

I've got letters I've sent to Lloyds in the past so happy to email them across if needed!

    Cheers

Yep. I'd go to the FOS as well. If nothing else, that'll cost Royds.
  • thank you. Payplan were are useful as a chocolate teapot as usual. I think i will give the FOS a ring now- Email from paypal - Thank you for your recent email, we do ask that interest and charges are frozen throughout the plan but unfortunately this is not always a guarantee, Creditors are within their rights to apply interest and charges at their discretion.

Same ol Payplan rubbish. Don't rely on them for anything, you have to do all the leg work yourself. Complain now, don't leave it any longer!

Oh, and rubbish about only being able to speak to Payplan, it's your account!

I've also battled long and hard with these guys, and as Tonylpool says, you have to take a more aggressive approach to this. Let them know that you're going to complain to the directors too, and if needs be, your local MP.
