Hey, anyone know where I can get a loan for that amount?

My own bank wont give me it because i have a £400 overdraft with them!

Another thing that probably works against me is i am a self employed taxi driver, and only put money into current account when I need to cover my insurance.

I'm 26 years old and live in N.Ireland.

Ive got no other debts, and never had a credit card in my life. Also Ive had 2 previous loans with current bank(This was when i wasn't self employed), paid off, never missed payments.

Cheers

Don't know about short-term but in the longer run you should ensure you have a better credit record. This means :
    paying off your overdraft
getting a credit card and religiously paying it off every month
using your current account more regularly

I am self employed mate and very rarely put money in the bank either, but for the finance company to approve me I had to show 3 months of bank statements which I thought of before I applied for finance, so I suggest maybe go down this route and put a few quid in the bank each week and make sure they can see enough money at the end of the month in your account to pay for the loan..

Cheers guys, i take it this means i have no chance now of getting one? I could pay it off inside 12 months, but they probably wont belive that.

Think you may have more of a problem when HMRC come sniffing around.

Sure there is a good reason for not putting anything in the bank aside from hiding it from the tax man but it does sound more like a moonlighting taxi driver than a self employed one.

    Happy to be corrected.
