    Devils advocate time, could they not be classed as a piece of uniform if paid by the company and as most companies require uniform back they would be allowed to refuse the OP's daughter from taking them with her.

    I don't leave my uniform at work every day.

    Your company could request you do so though. I actually meant they require the uniform back when the employee leaves as it is not the property of the employee.
    The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

    Daughter just came home for her lunch.

    It was a wind up.

    Her work will pay for an eye test and part pay towards glasses and she can take them home
