Awww I know exactly how you feel .. I no longer google my name to see if I win either cos its gut wrenching
take Nuts for eg I did win a comp with them and got the prize, but looking at the winners list its my name listed again above, that wasn't me .. arrrghh
then I found a comp I had entered, someone had said Kaelea has won will Kaelea get in touch, I messaged and said was that me, I got a really snotty reply back basically saying how dare I, the genuine Kaelea had replied and I wouldn't be able to cheat them ... double arrrgh
I now stick to checking my email at least twice a minute and stalking my postie .. its much more rewardingA heap big thank you to everyone who posts the comps, your all stars!

Luckily for me no one in the world appears to have the same name. You could always change your name to something else.
Whilst we're on the subject - does everyone use their real names for comping?0 -
I use my real name but everytime I google I put "my name" congratulations or "my name" winner or "my name" county (or town) winner or congratulations lol.. has worked before but there is a photographer, a tennis lady and other sports people who win things who share my name lol so have to pick through them. xStarted comping 01.01.2010. Wins 2010(Jan-June £2,535)January wins - Models own lipstick, Beauty Pod, Onya Weigh Bags, Figleaves/Always win, Crabtree&Evelyn Chocolate indulgence win, No7 Mascara, Green, furry, horny hat:rotfl:,DVD. Feb: Limited Edition baby packComping fairy please come and sprinkle some lucky comping dust my way0

I have the same trouble when googling my name. I've won a few things, but have a much luckier namesake out there.0

I google, but my first name is the name of a month and my surname is the name of a town, so anybody who has won in that area and that month comes up.....pages and pages!!
Also, to add insult a big lottery winner (no relation) has the same surname and lives in the same area and as he went public, there are lots of references with 'winner' and 'congratualtions'.....
Do you think I should give up the googling?

I have a Namesake comper as well. I recently added her on Facebook so at least I can ask if it's her if I see anything come up
I still Google my name, I just try not to get too excited until I get a call or e-mail:oThanks to all who post comps :A :T0 -
Thats nothing:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I have the same first and surname name as a famous popstar. So I usually find out Ive won a grammy and a mtv award lol. So I dont even bother with the google your name.I appreciate Each and Every win. I thank every comp poster from the bottom of my heart :A0

turbotina - I have the same problem, my surname is the name of a town also, so it makes it very difficult to spot wins by googling.
Before I was married, my full name was the same as an American Blues singer. It made things difficult as she won lots of awards and had lived in a town (in America) with the same name as my hometown too!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
Debt free thanks to MSE0 -
I have googled my name before..this is where i found out i share the same name as a !!!!!! star. More likely to find results for her than comp wins for me!0

The moral to the story is.....WE NEED TO STOP GOOGLING!
But good luck in your comping!
