Cheap camera with a good optical zoom

Im looking for a sub £100 digital camera with a decent optical zoom, the one I have now is 3 x and I really want 6 or 7 at the least. Obviously it has to be optical not digital and preferably with a movie with sound capability and the ability to use SD cards. So not a lot to ask for eh?

I love my panasonic lumix fs30 - it has 8 x optical zoom but it's £116. The fs10 and fs11 seem to get good reviews and are both sub £100 but only have 5 x optical zoom.

Keep a close eye on the price . Amazon has sold this camera £104 /£ 106 /£108 and £139 all within 14 days around new year. I paid £106

Amazon are currently sellign the Samsung WB600 for £126.50 and apparently they are as good as Panasonic's TZ range.

With reference to bafty crastard's post I also agree that the Lumix cameras are great cameras , I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ65 and also love it.

The problem with Amazon though is they tend to put their prices up and doown quite frequently, if you want to keep an eye on their prices then consider prices watching them using either PriceProtectr or Zeezaw. Flippin' heck, you're really unlucky! Sorry I missed this as Amazon dropped the price down to £79.52 for the WB600 only 4 days ago, has gone up since.

No I didn't buy a WB600, I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ65 which I bought from Curry's [or was it Comet?] for £150 last year. I'm very happy with the TZ65, it's a cracking camera.

Have a look at Amazon Market Place as well [if you think these are decent prices].
