Mortgage Complaint Help!

Hi all,
Dont know if this is the right place to post but,
in June we took out a mortgage with Halifax as first time buyers, a few problems annoyed us as the advisor never called back and was a bit of a bulls****er and cocky suppose he tries hard to get his bonus, but anyway he messed our mortgage up charging an extra £1000 due to paperwork earlier that he had rushed through due to him losing our address, is this his fault or ours for not reading properly before exchange or the solicitor? when i went into the branch he couldnt beleive his mistake and called in a colleague to encourage me to take out a loan or credit card (at that time i had a -1800 overdraft maxed) he also laughed and said DFS have a good intrest free deal. Anyway we are settled now after a few months and i would just like some advice really.
Many Thanks

Ste

next time use an adviser and not a bank clerk.

As for the rest of it, we need more on the error and cause.
