ITIL
got this one, fairly simple but shows you can follow processes ( quite boring TBH ). show you know about service levels, incidents management, how the different areas of IT react to each other. management love this one and I suspect its one of the biggest reasons I got my job in present company. I only have the foundation course but it makes your cv stand out a bit and shows you want to do things 'the right way'
think the book I got from amazon or ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Foundations-Service-Management-Based-ITIL-/250456284496?pt=Non_Fiction&hash=item3a505b9d50
looks to have been updated but similar, Think the foundation exam was about 35 quid

Check out http://www.foxit.net/ I have used them for all my training so far - Foundation, Intermediates and hopefully Expert this year.
Foundation is 10 a penny now, the intermediate courses are very good and do add value. Expert is reckoned to be worth £5-10K on your salary when applying for jobs.0 -
thanks guys0

just my 2 pence worth.
been in your situation and 2 years isnt long TBH.
qualifications seems to open more doors if you havent got anything?
get a few MS exams, ITIL etc under your belt. exams are about a £100 and you can get the self paced stuff DVD, MS books ( yes they do really work!! ) for les than a £100 too.
I used http://www.learnkey.com/ , www.cbtnuggets.com then signed up for the exams.
Ignore the classroom based ones IMHO as they cost a fortune. you will probably learn less than seeing/doing it yourself.
