Hi, I have a mortgage with NRAM and am attempting to port it. This is a facility written in to the agreement when I got my mortgage in 2007. I was told that this would be a quick and comparatively simple procedure. NRAM have admitted to losing my financial details twice. (Data Protection? I don't think so!!!) I asked to speak to a manager, who turned out to be another customer services operative. My solicitor has attempted to email them the details required although there is conflicting stories about where the email is now. One of the customer service operatives lied to my solicitor's clerk. I am still waiting for the "processing office" to process the portage and am in danger of collapsing the chain if they do not get a move on. I have spoken to a few banks/building societies for comparison and all have said that they would have this completed including survey in a maximum of four weeks. With NRAM it will be eight weeks by Friday 12th Jan. I, nor my solicitor can see to make any progress and will not be given either a senior manager to talk to nor a customer complaints number to phone . Any help and advice gratefully accepted.

I thought that NRAM weren't doing any new mortgage business and that includes porting of existing mortgages.0

From the NRAM Intermediaries site ....
Submitting applications
Intermediary registration
If you would like to submit a porting application on behalf of a NRAM customer you must be registered with the company. If you are not already registered with NRAM, you should complete and return a registration form.
Mortgage applications
NRAM holds and services existing mortgage and unsecured loan accounts and whilst these continue as normal, the company does not offer any new lending to new or existing customers.
Porting
Customers are able port their existing mortgage to a new property but they are unable to take any additional borrowing. Please speak to your local Business Development Manager for full details.
Please note that all NRAM porting applications should be submitted via a paper application form. Please visit our useful downloads for a paper application form.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I understood that when NRAM informed me that I was now with them and not Northern Rock I was "registered" . I wanted to pay some of the mortgage off, not borrow more but the "adviser" told me to port all of the mortgage over and then pay off a lump sum. This, I was informed would save me being charged 5% in early redemption fees. I have to move due to family circumstances so I feel that I am being forced to redeem the mortgage and have to pay £7,5000 redemption fee0
