Wildfrog, just a quick suggestion for the 0845 numbers - try www.saynoto0870.com. I found an alternative number for my bank, First Direct as my bills were also racking up each time I had to ring them. Worth a try ! :)

Thanks Linz, I checked the website and there is loads alternative numbers for our bank, HMRC, energy company. I'm never heard of it before so thanks for putting the link in!

I've ordered a new phone from Tesco to arrive tomorrow as the speaker has gone on mine, nothing fancy, it was £20 with £10 free credit and free delivery. This combined with the non 0845 numbers should help loads, just got ring o2 to get my pac code.

Spoke to Mr WF re boys toy storage and he suggested the seagrass chest I keep my sewing bits in. As I've cleared some space under the eaves the sewing stuff can live there for now and just come out when needed. I've emptied the chest of the sewing bits and put the boys downstair toys in there and it is looking lots tidier. Will be a bit of a faff getting the sewing machine up and down when I need it but at least it's out the way when not being used.

Need to get motivated with the washing pile, I swear it's multiplying!

  • Hello Wildfrog,

I seemed to have missed this thread whilst browsing the MFW section.

That link by Linz is certainly one noting down.

Was a good read and good luck with the washing!

OP is £328.28 for Feb, roll on end of March now.

It's been a busy week or so, Half term so Mr WF off work and I took the week off too. Plasterer came and did the wall, it's looking great, just needs to dry.

Went to look at some houses this week as our house should be on the market in 2 weeks. Found one we both really like, but has no parking:( but both love the house and the garden was giant. 2 others were maybe more sensible but they didn't have much of a garden. All hypothetical really as we need to sell ours still. :o
Took little ones out for the day on Tuesday to animal farm, took packed lunches to keep cost down, suprisingly both were very good and no tantrums!
Mr Widfrog was very manly and built a new drain cover in our courtyard and I washed and laid new gravel down. Looks much better.

I've got this week off work to paint the lounge and boys room. Also got Estate Agents around to value and discuss fees etc. One has offered us a 1% fee no lock in already so hope we can use it to bargain with the other Agents. Hopefully the house can then go on the market as of middle of next week.

Got my credit report last week too, mostly was fine, but had it down as a late payment on my credit card for December which was incorrect so raised a dispute, hoping it will be corrected without any probs.

House is still a bit of a tip from the plasterer being here so off to tidy and dust.

Urgh, feeling rubbish, got a blocked ear due to blocked sinuses and it's doing my nut in!
Need to get a new tyre on the car as I had a flat, the tyre was only a few months old. bah, and loads of house work to do but I can't be !!!!!d. Ahem....sorry for rant.

Right, where to start? Think I might go clean the bathroom, as it's not as bad as cleaning the kitchen!

Last week I painted the boys room and our room, looking good! Still waiting for plaster to dry in the lounge so I can paint it.... it is getting there slowly. Overbrought on paint so returned it at the weekend, thats a extra £18!

Estate agents came around, valuations varied by about £10,000. fees varied massively. One is talking to area manager to see if they will accept a drop in fees, if not we will be going with the 1% fee agent :D

Car insurance was due for renewal this month and I forgot:o so messed up the budget a little. But found a quote for £105 less than my renewal price which made me happy, plus £23 cashback:T

Mr WF is due payrise this month, when he started his job it was with 6 monthly payrises for 2 years subject to satisfactory performance, so this can be used to increase mortgage payments as it is extra we are not used to.
Pay review time for me is coming up..... although I anticipate it will be less than inflation.... although I'm not complaining, we're pretty lucky to get anything when you look at people who are getting pay cuts/redundancies. Still anything extra in my monthly pay cheque with try to put into mortgage.
