OK these free CDs used to be ten a penny but actually the ones on offer here look pretty good.
Free inside The Telegraph this weekend - two CDs featuring 21 beautiful pieces of music from the world's greatest composers.
Inside the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph newspapers this weekend, you'll find the two volumes of a CD collection - Music from the Masters 2011 - featuring essential pieces of classical music chosen by Classic FM presenter John Suchet, whose lifelong fondness for classical music has informed his careful choices.
The collection includes a range of pieces that exemplify Suchet’s accessible approach to the classical genre. Featured composers include: Beethoven, Mozart, Puccini, Bach and Debussy.
Volume One, free with the Daily Telegraph, features exclusive recordings of favourites including Handel’s rousing Hallelujah chorus, Puccini’s Humming Chorus and Beethoven’s dramatic Egmont Overture.
You’ll hear another side of Beethoven, Suchet’s own favourite composer, in Volume Two - free with the Sunday Telegraph - which includes the Moonlight Sonata, as well as a virtuoso performance of Grieg’s tempestuous Piano Concerto and Elgar’s stirring Pomp and Circumstance March No.1.
Performed by a variety of powerful orchestras and renowned soloists from around the world, this collection won’t be mistaken for mere background music. Fans of opera will recognise the Humming Chorus from Madame Butterfly, ‘Dies Irae’ from Verdi’s Requiem and Wagner’s overture from the Flying Dutchman.
TWO FREE CLASSICAL MUSIC CDS - ONLY INSIDE THE TELEGRAPH, SATURDAY JANUARY 15 AND SUNDAY JANUARY 16.
