Solicitor not returning calls

Hi All,
I'm due to exchange imminently on a new build property. The property is also due for completion on 28th Jan.
We've had a mountain of problems and I think the contracts have been re-written at least twice.
However, now my solicitor is not even returning my calls and I'm starting to get very annoyed with the lack of response.
Does anyone have any good tactics in getting solicitors to bow down and listen to your clients.
Or do you think I should find another solicitor who will act quickly?

Changing horses at this late stage, especially if there have been complication in drawing up contracts, sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Define "not returning calls" - direct-line voicemail might not get picked up if they are on holiday or off ill.
Are they big/small, local/online & cheap ?
Have you tried email?
Ring the switchboard?
Try ringing the partner designated for complaints, if you really have exhausted every option.
Some solicitors might say they won't waste time - and therefore your money, charging you for doing something - if there's nothing to say. For example... If waiting for a response from the other party, is there much point to regular updates, that they are still waiting..?Act in haste, repent at leisure.

Agreed, I'm not keen on this idea.CloudCuckooLand wrote: »Define "not returning calls" - direct-line voicemail might not get picked up if they are on holiday or off ill.

They are medium sized, local firm. I have tried Direct line, left voicemail, also left messages at reception and sent an Email. He has been in Court a couple of times this week, but I know he is definitely in today as reception confirmed.CloudCuckooLand wrote: »Try ringing the partner designated for complaints, if you really have exhausted every option.

Good idea - I will try another partner.
I agree if there is nothing to say that's fine. However, if they are still missing documents they need to notify either me or the builders solicitors and at the moment, no-one knows.0 -
Local - call in...
This is one of the reasons I stuck 3x with the same firm. A stroll from the office when needs must...Act in haste, repent at leisure.
