Accurate pedometer ?

in I wanna buy it or do it
I have been trying to work up to 10,000 steps a day and have a pedometer, however it sems like it is not very accurate, sometimes its hard to make it move at all, othertimes it jumps in twos....its an Oregon Scientific.

I have seen something called 'fitbug' anyone got one of them ?
