Returning DVD Recorder to Argos?

I want to return a DVD recorder to Argos. Purchased it the other day and it's very noisy, also it is a different model to the one they show in their catalogue. Impulse purchase really, since they were doing free gift coupons at the time
I have packaged it all up as best as I could, will they check the return or just chuck it in a corner? I don't really want a exchange as cash is more tempting
Also will I have to return the free gift voucher?

It's clearly not "fit for purpose", too noisy to use in your house without spoiling your viewing pleasure, so you're entitled to a refund if you've got your receipt.
Technically you do have to give vouchers back, but make them ask !
I presume they'll have a record of voucher codes and can cancel, but their computer system is pretty **** so I'm not sure.Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0
