Tax Return - help required!

Options
Hello
I am trying to fill in my tax form for 2009 -2010. - I know it is a bit last minute but hey, better late than never!

I am self employed working through an agency. The "payroll" company deducts £20/wk as a fee for paying me. Can this amount be added to my tax return as a business expense.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide

  • Payroll company? If you are genuinely SE you shouldnt have one of these.

Normally such expenses are deductible but it sounds like a SE scam and you may find disclosing this expense if scruitinised ends it.

Yes - not only does you 'employer' save employers National Insurance but he charges you £20 per week for the privilege. Are you seriously paid weekly as a self-employed person?
