Finance advice
Hi all, my wife and I have been looking to upgrade our caravan (inherited to us by my wife's parents) for a couple of years, we finally made the plunge in July when we found the right van.
We were offered a good part exchange for the old caravan and were told by the sales manager that the finance had gone through, we held off on confirming everything (although we had signed papers then and put a deposit down on the new caravan) because we wanted to have our married names on the documents (we married in November) anyway after going to clear out the old van and sign the official papers in December we thought everything was going well. However my wife noticed that they planned to take the payments from my bank account and she had asked at the park if it was possible to change over the bank details to our joint account and would this pose any problems, we were told that it wouldn't but may incur a fee.
On the 4th of January i phoned the black horse, who the finance is with to see if i could change the bank details and they told me this had to be done through the park because they couldn't find us on their system, so i rang them and asked if it was possible to change the bank details before they took the money out on the 11th, the sales manager said he'd do it straight away. After confirming the details with him once again on the 5th we had a phone call yesterday to say that the finance hadn't gone through! He said the criteria must have changed and maybe we were trying to borrow too much but he had already told us that we had been accepted! What's going on!? Your opinions please.
Oh and further to this we don't know if the old van is still on the pitch although my wife has paid two months worth of this years fees and an estimated electricity bill and to top that off he has either suggested we try a cheaper van or find somewhere else to get the loan. We should have the possibility of another two years on our pitch with the old one but it seems like they don't want to allow us this.
Your help and opinions are greatly appreciated.

Opinions? Well it sounds like the salesperson thought you had/would qualify for finance from doing some pre-qualification checking, but when Black Horse tried to process it there was more information which meant they couldn't approve it. Try another lender, maybe?0
