Now you'll get the petrol heads telling you AVOID this product as you can't repair a tyre that's had the Holts treatment.

Load of rubbish, it produces a powdery residue inside the tyre and as long as the original damage is obvious, it can be repaired as normal.

thanks both posters, just bought some, i have a car that doesn't come with a spare tyre, so always good to have a couple of cans just in case... on the back of the can it gives you a number to call to find your nearest national tyre centre, where they can repair tyres with the product in where possible, and if a new tyre is required you'll get a 10% discount.
  • Bought 4 this afternoon, seems to be an offer to get rid of older stock(?) - some have "exp. 09 2013" on them but I found a batch with "12 2015" on them which is in line with the "5 year guarantee" stated on the can.

Great buy - cheapest I've seen it anywhere is £6.50, so giving one to brother, mother and father as well...I've never had a double blowout, but I have gone to change a tyre and found that the spare hasn't been repaired!
  • agree with previous posters - good if you don;t have a spare.
Father in garage trade and says it's a pain in the .... if you have to try and repair a puncture after this is in. Many tyre places will tell you a new tyre is needed.
HOWEVER, if it fixes it and your not stuck in the middle of nowhere for ages with two screaming kids...well the cost of a tyre maybe worth it!

this stuff doesn't work for a proper blow out of your tyre, it's only good for small punctures and nails etc. a badly blown out tyre with a rip through it, this stuff will just come out the hole! but always useful for minor punctures

I hope all of you that have bought 1 of these have READ THE INSTRUCTIONS :)

    Basically .....

SUITABLE FOR A MEDIUM SIZED TYRE UP TO 15 INCHES

So I'm guessing if, like me, you have got LARGE (Wide) 17 inch wheels & tyres then either you need TWO CANS PER WHEEL

    or

Tyreweld is UNSUITABLE for tyres that are above medium and greater than a 15" fitting

    I'm presuming it's the former :)

If you lookon the cans there are different sorts for different cars. There is a small cars, medium cars, large cars and one for all cars. It states this on a black strip at the front of the can. HTH

Yup, we happily repair tyres that have had jollop squirted into them, as long as we can find the puncture! The stuff's a bit runny and mucky so sometimes it takes a little longer that fixing a tyre without it, but it's not the end of the world by any means. I hear lots of apocryphal stories about garages refusing to touch tyres that have been jollopped and sending people to drive away on the punctured tyre.
    Would LOVE to win:
