From here http://shop.hm.com/gb/customerservice?display=reclaim it says

Your hm.com purchases can be returned or exchanged at any H&M store, just remember to bring your delivery note. A merchandise card will be issued for online returns made in store, this card is only valid in store. Faulty items may be returned in any H&M store for a full refund. Items from the H&M Home collection cannot be returned or exchanged in store.
For more information and instructions please refer to the delivery note in the parcel.

I read that, but it didn't mention sale items and I'm not fully aware of their refund policy on sale items so thought it might be different. Thanks though, I'll give it a go.

they also have payment methods, where you can have a payment slip sent with your delivery if you don't want to use card details online or don't have the funds to pay right now. With the payment slip you have up to 20 days to make the payment.
