Found a Debt from 2007 - Should I contact them?

Hi folks,
Several years ago I got into some personal difficulties and ended up with lots of debts and a few defaults. After I found other employment I set about clering up the mess and at this point, I'm pretty much back on track with no problems.
I checked my credit file for the first time in years and noticed that on one particular credit ref agencies file, theres a defaulted debt from 02 for £302 dating back to 2007.
I'm guessing that in the bigger picture, this one fell through the net, and although im VERY suprised I havent been chased for it at all, I'm a little disappointed it defaulted back then.
My question now is, do I contact them about this debt even though it seems forgotten? If so, could I offer a token payment to 'settle' the debt and have it marked as such on my file? Its the only default showing on this file! OR are 02 likely to take up the chase again and begin the whole horrid debt collection process again?
Thanks all
