My Asda was busy selling off everything left for 5p.
Foil wrapping paper (was £2), Xmas tree decs, ribbon etc.
Picked up £20 worth of stuff for 50p

In ours the other day were normal gold gift bags, wrapping paper (all non christmas items) all reduced to about 25p, that was Luton0

I have always wondered about this before. Is it worth getting the Xmas clearances for next year or is it considered a tad sad? Yes you do save money but it is a year in advance would it not be better getting stuff near Christmas, does that not put people in the mood for Christmas too?0

I take your point.
But I have been on 3k a year, and on 80k a year. When money wasn't very tight, your way of doing things is perfectly valid, but when money is so tight that the week it comes to a new winter coat means going without something else, then the frugals method make extremely good sense.0 -
Unfortunately i dont have an asda near me,but thanks for heads up.I have to admit that i havent paid full price for xmas wrapping paper/gift tags/cards for about 10 years now,i always buy them in the january sales.1% at a time member #112 2% paid0

Well that foil wrapping paper comes wrapped in cellophane and is timeless, the Xmas tree stars are timeless, the ribbon is timeless - just savvy shopping if you ask me.
I don't thinking lining the pockets of the big 4 comes into my understanding of what Christmas is all about ;-)0 -
might head to asda tommorrow for a bargain, i being tight on cash start my christmas shopping in the sales that way i can get decent presents for people without bankrupting myself. i don't think its the shopping that makes it feel christmassy anyway i think its the decorations and music.Sarcasm
the witty will have fun
and the stupid won't get it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
