hi i have but had to stop as i no longer have my own car (share with hubby but only get to use it in the evening and weekends).

Obviously i would depend how many clients/cleaners they have in the area you live but in my area, i rang on the friday and had 3 houses lined up for the following week with more to follow the following week until I got as many houses as I wanted to clean.
  • thanks for your reply,do maid2clean get a % of what you earn?
  • i think they pay £6 per hour. not too sure though!

i worked for a cleaning company where they charged clients £13 per hour and paid me £7, but didnt pay me for travelling, even though some jobs used to be 20 miles away!!

so i learned how to do the job well, left and set up my own small business cleaning and charging £10 per hour. I work where i want, when i want and get paid cash every day!

oh and before anyone shouts about tax and NI im all registered, insured the works!

sorry for the delay in replying.
yes it was £6 an hr cash in hand to me and I remember the lady from the company telling me they get about £8 not alot more than the £6 we got.

Just before my car broke i put an ad on gumtree advertising my cleaning services and got 4 calls within the first week from different houses. i was also cheeky and asked for £8 an hr :rotfl:

There's a lot more to working for a cleaning company than the money (although of course that helps!). maid2clean boast to their franchisees that they never have to meet a client. Not great customer service, that. But more to the point, if no one meets the client beforehand, and just relies on a phone call or email to book the appointment, who checks that it's safe for the cleaner to go in? Who checks that the client is genuine and not a nutcase, or that the place isn't manky or full of drug addicts' needles before the cleaner turns up?

It can be pretty scary for a cleaner going into a stranger's home on their own. I wouldn't want to send my daughter - or son for that matter - into a place that hadn't been checked out beforehand (remember Mr Kipper? yuk).

Before registering to work for a company, you should check if they are going to look after you. As far as I know, quite a few of them don't e.g. I know that Selclene doesn't check the clients out either.

One company that does check out all clients and jobs is Adore Cleaning (http://www.adorecleaning.co.uk). They always insist on visiting every client and checking every job first before they send a cleaner in. They even go back in a second time with the cleaner and explain everything around the house so that the cleaner is happy and knows what to do. They're the only firm I know that go back in with the cleaner. They're only in the south at the moment, but I hear they're going to expand. By the way, they pay £8.00 per hour
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.
