  • Thank you, that's very kind. My day feels better already! My in laws thought I shouldn't really have the dogs (well not 3 anyway) but I love them dearly and wouldn't be without them.

It's days like today when I have walked them in the sun, hubby is making nice cups of tea and all your support that keep me going.

  • Hi and welcome to this great group of people.
I understand what you are saying about Freeview/Sky - we are also in a lousy reception area (can't even get channel 5 without a satellite dish) so changing to Freeview for us would cost around £150 for a new aerial to be installed (this is what neighbours opposite paid). I cut back my Sky package to just 2 "bundles" at £7.50 each - entertainment for me and music for DH. OK £6 a month isn't a huge amount but £72 a year is worth having.
  • What packages do you get if you don't mind me asking?

    Hi and welcome
I don't know how long you've had your sky for but if you are outside of the 12 month contract you can get free sky. I did this about a year ago and it didn't cost me anything to do it as I had completed my initial contract. You get quite a few channels all the BBC and ITV programmes, Sky news and E4 movies to name but a few.
Take a look at this link it may help you

  • I'm SO glad you are happy in your job - please don't feel cricitised by me - I was half expecting you to explain that you are part time. But I know salaries are low in S Wales. I was there just last week, and felt rather envious - I felt that people there seemed to be enjoying their lives and living much more happily than we do here in London. :)

It does sound as if you have started your journey towards debt-freedom - things start to improve from here :D

Hi just wanted to say good luck and welcome. The folks on here are wonderful. Helpful and supportive. You are not alone.

  • Thank you everyone! I feel so much better today and will probably have a much better week having got all that off my chest!

Jobbinmusician - no problems at all! 6 months ago I would have wholeheartedly agreed with you. I used to live nearish to London - Aylesbury - and yes people there are so much more stressed looking etc. Don't get me wrong we still have the same problems here, think it's the fresher air that helps! I really dislike London (don't want to offend anyone living there) but I love where I live. Great town, close to Cardiff, mountains close by, coast close by, fresh air, friendly people...........still get the yob element and the Welsh are poorly portrayed by the media at times but I love it!

London and big cities are too crowded, polluted, too busy, and if you do stop "to stare" you feel a freak! I shall now hide under my desk waiting for hate mail!

    Have a good week all,

    K xx
