Its usually easier to say work like that isnt done during pregnancy honey but in reality its not as cut and dry as that. I was just quoting your post as it summarised a few things nicely

I don't know how things have changed since I had my kids (now 18 and 16) but I had free dental treatment for a year after they were born. When DS1 was 9 months old I needed a crown and had that done for free. A year later I needed another crown and the dentist said it would need doing at some time and to tell him if I got pregnant again...by the time of my next check up I was 8 weeks pregnant and he promptly offered to do my crown before I got too big and uncomfy to sit in the chair for long enough, so I got that for free too
