Can mortgage company claim uncharged fees after 8 months?

We moved house and increased our existing mortgage with YB and all was fine until last week when the mortgage adviser telephoned me and explained that valuation fees plus mortgage fees were missed off several applications during the last year by Yorkshire Bank.
The advisor then asked if she could take the money out of my current account held with the same branch to which i replied I do not have enough funds in there she then told me she had set up provisions to increase my overdraft to include this £900.
I agreed for her to do this but the more i think about it i wonder if they can do this ????

"Missed off" ? - as in forgotten to be processed, or as in never specified in a key facts document ?
They might have trouble with the latter, perhaps. For the former, mistakes do happen, and if you had an expectation of paying fees but hadn't noticed them not being taken, then yes they can, I suspect.Act in haste, repent at leisure.

Yes - if you weren't charged for a service but costs were understood to be applicable, they are entitled to ask you to pay now.0

as far as i know it was forgotten to be processed this was a common thing across all branches so probably missed off there mortgage software or similar?0

Also the solicitor that dealt with the sale has now come forward saying they missed £500 off our invoice and have changed our invoice after we paid the full and final settlement they sent!!!0

If they were disclosed but not taken then you owe the money. If they were not disclosed then they cant go charging them after the event.
The fees in question do sound like the type that are disclosed. So, you probably knew long ago that you hadnt paid them and were perhaps hoping they had forgotten?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Personally I would have asked them to put the request in writing - a bank going and taking money out of my account, on the basis of a phonecall, would not give me much confidence.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I agree - apart from anything else, it is an admission by the bank that it has fouled up.
You may have grounds for complaint if you believed it had been included in other fees paid and may be able to either have it written off or at least repaid interest free over a period of time.0
