Northern Rock variable rate

Hi
We took out a together mortgage with Northern Rock back in 2007, on a 3 year fixed deal.
We have now reverted back to the variable rate. However, I have looked through the paperwork, and cannot see what the variable rate "should" be ie x% above base rate. Or can they just set it to whatever they like, almost regardless of the base rate?
Thanks
Chris

It isn't a tracker, it is a variable rate so it won't track the base rate.0
