My girlfriend and I earn 38800 between us.

We've seen a house that is £140k (or, rather, we know the people would take that).

We have between £6000-£10000 for a deposit, so would need to borrow between £130k-£134k in all.

Is this possible?

Simple answer is yes there will be lenders that could look at this for you.

Two things to remember:

1) It will depend on your whole scenario as to which schemes you will be eligible for - taking into account any other debts in the background, children etc

2) If you are borrowing over 90% of the property, there will be a Higher Lending Charge to pay on the mortgage - some lenders do not charge this but have a slightly higher rate to compensate
