Transfer of Equity

I am currently awaiting a transfer of equity from a joint mortgage. My name is being take of the mortgage and all transfer of equity forms have been signed and sent off by me and the other owner. These were sent off over a month ago and this has actually been ongoing for 15months.

How long does the Transfer of equity usuall take once the forms are signed and sent to the solicitor?
Im pretty desperate to be off this mortgage as I cannot buy untill I am and as I do not have a soicitor I cannot find out any information. The mortgage company are also reluctant to give me any information

The equity transfer will result in the existing mortgage being treated as a new mortgage application by the other party. So possibly the application has been referred to your lenders underwriters for approval.

Unfortunately you cannot discharge your own liability by merely completing a form. The other party will need to meet current lending criteria for the new mortgage
