            booo Hissssssssss to Martin's Mantra.
See, I think there's ALWAYS an exception to every rule...and it's shoes for Martin's rule
:D:D:D
I'm with you Quackers...however OH has introduced a house rule that if I buy a new pair of shoes I have to charity shop a pair. My logical brain agrees with him but my loveliness brain does not compute. And I've already charity shopped all his spare pairs...:rotfl:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

            Hi,
I am new so pls don't shoot me down!
I went into our local Clarkes today and they had some lovely shiny boys trainers reduced to £7 but they didn't have my sons size (they had 12 but i needed a 13).
After I also called in to our local Clarkes clearance store in the local outlet village thinking they might also have a clearance sale on too. They had rows of the exact same trainers on for 19.50, I couldn't believe it, I took them to the till for a price check and explained to the SA that they were only 7pounds in the main Clarkes store, how come they were more expensive in the clearance store. She was so rude and said effectively that the stores are totally different, basically she didn't care.
I didn't buy them.
Just wondered if Quackers could shed any light on why this is?

No-ones going to shoot you down

ok, here is what I 'think' happened here.
The style of trainers you saw for £7 is possibly an older style from a previous sale.
It would have been recalled in a regular clarks store. Then they all get sent to a factory store for them to sell at whatever price is decided.
The ones you saw had possibly been missed by the store and not sent back so at the next available opportunity they put them out to try and clear - so now.
That's the only reason I can think of
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

yes, you pay the lower priceSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

Quackers - can I ask will the men's shoes go down to a final 70% off as well or is 50% the maximum.
By the way I am sure I echo everyone's sentiments when I say - Thank you very much for giving us all the heads up on this, and also answering all the queries.0 -

I'm really not sure
I was surprised that the mens didn't have some 70% reductions today...there were none at all
I think it's because there is hardly any mens sale left so they are leaving it as it is - because it is selling well at the current prices...you men must be happier with just the 50%
:D
There's a chance it may go down next week ~ but I really have no idea.
Sorry
