Price matching John Lewis

I have just been reading one of the other threads about LCD TV's. Now on looking at John Lewis's pricing policy you can see that they do not match internet prices and the shop has to be local. So if you want to save yourself £100 or so then look at Richer Sounds web sight and check out there prices. Then you can match there prices with john Lewis's because they have a few shops that are local to John Lewis in Kingston & Brentcross in London. For example Panasonic TX32LXD60 in Richer sounds is £699 and in John Lewis is £799. So all you have to do is phone JL undersales dept and tell them that Richers sounds is doing this TV at £699 and they will match it, and all JL tv's come with a free 5 year warranty. So there you go, I am sure everyone already knows this but just thought I would add to this.

also Richer do the Samsung LE32R72BDX at £799 and in John Lewis its a whopping £928 save yourself some pennies and get a 5 year warranty at the same time Fantastic. Also you could try to blag free delivery but if you cant then I think its only £30 anywhere in the country with JL.0

There are also a few Plasmas on there that could save you a couple of hundred as well.0

apparently Plasma TV's are not as good as the new LCD technology and will eventually be phased outyou know when you're getting older - the wife says, "let's go upstairs and make love" and you reply, "I can't do both" !!0

may be this comment is right in another 6 to 12 monthd down the line.
JL, brent cross is the most flexible in my experience. request them for pricematch. they will send you a letter whether they can match it or not. then you can take it to local JL and get it pricematched (further reference:- avforums.com plasma section)christopher_h wrote:apparently Plasma TV's are not as good as the new LCD technology and will eventually be phased out0 -
AV Forums have a huge thread about this...

It doesn't matter whether or not a shop is local to the particular John Lewis you go to, as long as the shop matches the other criteria. However if the shop is local then that particular John Lewis will usually alter their shelf edge price to match.
This leaflet explains all: http://www.johnlewis.com/jl_assets/pdf/nku_jl.pdf0 -

JL do the 74 not the 72...
Its also worth noting that Richer Sounds generally sell older products. Thats why they're cheap and why they often appear so heavily discounted - when in fact they aren't.
The 72 on richer sounds is inferior to the 74. As far as I am aware Richer sounds are the only company selling it now (backing up my point above). I have a 74 myself, from JL on a price match with RGB Direct. If you want JL to do a match then it needs to be the identical model - RGB are usually the cheapest place that you will be able to get JL to match.0
