Hello All,
I'm sure you prob get 100's of messages like this, but i thought id try as i couldn't see another 1.
I was entering comps about 2 years ago and think i won once from entering about 100 comps. I've now since the turn of the year started entering them again. What would people say is there average strike rate (like how many comps do people enter here to when they win something?) Just i see alot of people win i was just wondering if its something that could take a long while or if people are luckier and win a bit more often?
Thank you for any replies in advance

On average about 100 a day! Obviously the more you enter, the more you'll win. And it depends what you want. If you only enter competitions for big prizes, like TVs and holidays, you win less often than if you enter for DVDs and books because of the number of people entering these types of competitions.2009 Wins = £833
2010 Wins = £6,597
2011 Wins = £7,083
£2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
20 in 2012 = 4/200 -
I've entered loads, and keep entering loads, and there's no wins for me as of yet...0

like above the better the comp the less chance you have of winning it as loads of people will be entering, but for books is where you usually have a better strike rate as not so many people enter( but still in the 1000's)
just keep on entering and then you will eventually win somethingBlessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0 -

2011 £1554.50 2010 £698.00 2009 £2793.00
2008 £2816.00 2007 £1034.000 -

Hello All,
What would people say is there average strike rate (like how many comps do people enter here to when they win something?)
It is not just a question of how many you enter it is also how many other people enter the same competition.
To give you some idea of the odds
One of the daily competitions for a prize worth £1.70 (that is one pound seventy pence) gets 100's of entries everyday.
A weekly competition for candles worth about £50 has well over 2,000 entries every week (last week there were almost 3500 entries as it ran for over a week).
If a competition is hit by one of the firms that people pay to enter for them it can result in 20,000 plus entries in addition to the "real" entries (a captcha or similar on the entry form helps to stop them).
A big prize and a simple entry route will attract 100,000's of entries but your one entry could still be the one that wins it.
If a prize (not a massive value one) has to be collected there are likely to be far fewer entries than there would be if the prize was delivered so entering those (if you can collect) can increase your chances as can entering ones with several prizes on offer.
Comps with e-mail entry instead of a webform and those that require effort (such as complete this sentence in 10 words or less "Twinnings Tastebud Tickling Tea Tempts The..." etc) will usually get less entries as well and so give you better odds of winning.0
