anyone help on my asian theme for the ball

I have one idea jasmine from aladdin although dont have flat enough tummy so trying to find nude coloured leotards???

    Any ideas?

what about a belly dancer...we do classes of it at the gym and the lady who does it isn't jasmine either (tho totally lovely!), in fact i found those with a bigger belly got on better than the skinnier ones...more to shake i suppose, but anyway you can wear it with a chiffon viel thingy over the tummy area or strings of beads...either would disguise bits you don't like.
  • Thanks CG I looked on ebay and there quite expensive and I honestly wouldnt know how to do up a sari...

sari's are easy, we did them in school...

pleat one end a bit then tuck it into waist band of trousers (or whatever youre wearing under) wrap it round your waist and chuck the end over your shoulder and/or head.
  • The thing is... you don't have to wear it as a sari, if you (or a mate/ family) could knock up a basic top using the sari material then it would look asian and authentic and maybe have a little purse/ bag from same material. Just a thought!

If it's an asian night why don't you dye a bedsheet black, cut out a slit for the eyes and wear it as one of those all over body robe things...

Something like that! I get confused as they seem to be called lots of different things.. I've heard about burkas, hijabs and all sorts and none of it makes any sense to me they may as well call them all googlewhatzits!
I'm pagan, that's my excuse for knowing nothing about muslims/hindus etc etc etc!
