Tesco Organic British Whole, Semi Skimmed or Skimmed Milk 4 Pints (2.27L)
Works out 37p a pint
12 pints or 6.81 litres of organic milk for £3 seems a great price

Organic Milk
Organic milk is obtained from cows that feed on grass that is not sprayed with fertilizers or other harmful chemicals. Organic milk is also gained from cows who are not injected with hormones to increase their production of milk. On the other hand, the cows producing organic milk are left in the pastures to feed themselves in the natural environment. Read more on organic foods.
Regular Milk
Contrary to organic milk, regular milk is obtained from cows that are fed on grass sprayed with fertilizers or chemicals. These cows are also treated with hormones to increase production of milk. Regular milk is obtained from cows that are kept in sheds and are fed on grain. Regular milk contains antibiotics and synthetic hormones and it has a lower shelf life as compared to organic milk.
Organic Milk Vs Regular Milk
The intake of milk is essential for people of every age group and hence should be consumed regularly. But, many people are confused over the issue of organic milk vs regular milk. There is a lot of debate on the advantages of one over the other. Children are also recommended to have organic milk rather than regular milk. Let us know more on the difference between organic milk and regular milk.- One of the biggest advantages of organic milk is that as the cows do not feed on grass sprayed with fertilizers, people consuming organic milk are not at risk of taking in these substances. Also, the cows producing organic milk are not treated with any artificial hormones or antibiotics, hence, these substances are absent in organic milk. But this does not mean that regular milk is impure or unsafe to consume. It is also tested according to the government standards.
- Another advantage of organic milk over regular milk is that it has a longer shelf life as compared to regular milk. Organic milk is ultra pasteurized and this makes it last longer. This also makes organic milk cost higher than regular milk. Some people complain that all the essential nutrients in organic milk are killed as it is treated to a very high temperature. But, this is not true. You can go for organic milk if you wish to have it last longer.
- Although in the issue of organic milk vs regular milk, one thing that is common among the two is that the amount of nutrients present in both the types of milk is same. The nutritional value of both organic as well as regular milk is the same. One must know that both these types of milk are equally pure and safe to consume.
- The kind of farming used for production of organic milk is environment friendly and also supportive of wild life. This is also one of the reasons why people pay extra for organic milk. Organic milk is also supposed to reduce the risk of heart disease or obesity but this has not been clinically proven.
In the debate, organic milk vs regular milk, you must have observed that there are no negative aspects whatsoever, related to consumption of organic milk. Therefore, it can be rightly said that organic milk is really worth its extra cost!

OK thanks but that article is rather biased - ordinary milk is NOT full of hormones and pesticides, herbicides etc - it is 100% safe to drink. Organic milk makes me laugh, just another way to ad pseudo premium values onto an ordinary product.0

I must say that the response by sirbrainy is very narrow minded.
You may feel the above post about the 2 types irrelevant but it is up to the individual to make their own choice based on their own beliefs.0
