She can be a paid minder - but.......not to ONLY family members, and there's a long drawn out process to start it up. To be an approved child care provider to qualify for working tax credits top ups for child care, you have to have an OFSTED number - which means you have to be licensed, have relevant training, have certain requirements that your home has to meet, and you must also look after non relative children as well.
She can't get government funding for 'gran spending time with grandkid', but would instead have to spend at least several months getting set up, approved, and then be prepared to work long hours for little pay, and jump through all the hoops that registered childminders have to do.0 -
