i wanna buy some wide calf wellies

Options
hi

I'm looking for some wellies with ahem.. a generous calf size :p .. maybe more money saving and less eating would mean I didn't need them though!:rotfl:

any ideas? I've done the Ebay / Google route and I don't want to spend much .. it's just for Winter Walkies with the dogs.

thank you!

    Hello WindChim

I'm guessing that you are female. If I'm correct, why not try on a pair of mens wellies? I think you'll find that the calf is wider and a better fit. You might find that the foot is a bit too wide (even if the length is alright), so just wear another pair of socks to help the fit.

    If I'm wrong and you're male..............I give up.:o

    Regards

nope, you're quite right ... I think the fellas wouldn't really care, and would shove their feet into anything!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

ok, will give that a try ... thing is, I love the nice ladies styles at the mo .. the mens plain ones are SO plain .. not even shiny black .. but then, I'm being VERY fussy for a bird with fat legs eh?! :rotfl:

Well then, save money by purchasing the cheaper black mens wellies...............then paint your own design onto them.:D

I've got the same problem! I got my wellies from B&Q they are men's ones, black with a white stripe around the top edge, but they do fit which is great, I can actually wear them with my jeans tucked into them.
I know what you mean about wanting funky ones I spent ages trying to find some nice bright ones but couldn't find any to fit.

    Good Luck

    I got a pair from Jileon.co.uk

They were a bit more expensive (£45, but come with a welly bag) and have really wide calves and have those little pull-tie bits. They are black with various colours of polka dots.

    Worth a look!

Whilst I haven't tried them yet myself (something I've been kicking myself for this week), I have been told that Crocs wellies are a good width - and if the kids ones are anything to go by, it's true (have a chunky toddler, and these are the only ones that fit his legs). They're also a slightly shorter leg, so that could be part of the solution.

Can't get my head round why this thread has been resurrected out of the blue after nearly two and a half years.............:confused::confused:

  • I realise you're after wellies but this place might be able to advise you where to buy some if they don't have any. They specialise in wide fitting boots and have a sale on at the moment. I know someone that's bought from them before and they highly recommended the place. http://www.duoboots.com/

    Gentlepurr - agree. Hadn't noticed!
