get £5 for having an eye test

hubby went for an eye test at boots today, he paid £5 using the eye test for £5 voucher attatched to the no7 £5 voucher (if you want a truly free one there is also one in the current m&s magazine) and then got 1000 advantage points too by using the acm voucher for 1000 points when you have an eye test...

...so i boots maths he was paid £5 to have the test!

  • Ooooh, and I am due an eye test soon, might have to have it done at Boots. Only problem is, last time I had it done there, the prescription was illegible, had to scan it in and send it to the online opticians!

Can you use then and then get your glasses elsewhere? I want to get the glasses from ASDA as they are only £50 there.
  • You can get your glasses where ever you want to. As long as you get the prescription from them (which they have to give you). I usually get mine really cheap on line.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
  • I've received lots of £5 vouchers for eye tests on the paper bags in which you get prescriptions. It's another way to get a cheap test rather than buy £5 of goods to get the vouchers.
  • Hrm...I have the £5 voucher, but not sure if I trust to go back to Boots. Specsavers told me I needed glasses, then in my next test the other month Boots told me I didn't and my eyesight is perfect. I'm struggling to read close up things currently so I have developed a lack of faith in Boots. Shame really, as I use them for everything else and they have lovely frames in there!!
  • If you like their frames you could always get a prescription somewhere you trust and go to them for the frames. Did they just test you for short-sight - sometimes they do not bother for long-sight unless you mention something!
