I was also wondering, are you able to keep entering ITV comps after winning, or is there a cooling off period.

The reason I ask is because I avoid entering the random ITV competitions for prizes (Like the Xfactor cosmetic ones), incase I win one preventing me from winning a cash one - if that makes sence..

I don't think there is anything in the Terms and Conditions to say you can't enter. I carried on after winning my holiday to Florida.

However, when I won a holiday to Australia with Virgin Radio, I was told I could not enter any of their competitions for a year to give others a chance.

Anyone who has won an ITV comp, have you won more than once?
    2019 Prize Total - £0/0 Prizes 2018 Prize Total - £100/1 Prize 2017 Prize Total - £250/2 Prizes
    2016 Prize Total - £650/3 Prizes 2015 Prize Total - £250/5 Prizes 2014 Prize Total - £625/10 Prizes
    2013 Prize Total - £430/5 Prizes

Back when I started comping a few months ago I missed a call from ITV. I called them back a few hours later, after I had googled the number to find out who it was calling me. The guy who answered asked if I was Mr (my surname), so I guess they were keeping my name and number to call me back at some point. My heart started pounding when he said that I had won a competition with ITV.....but (trying not to sound too ungrateful!) it was 'only' a year's supply of lucozade! A nice prize, but when you hear the words 'ITV competition', you expect very great things!

Thanks for the question and all the people that answered! I Have always wondered the same thing! :)
Back comping after 4 years...1 husband and 2 children heavier!
August 2015 wins: Bloche goodie bag (TW), Reading Festival tickets, Bead your own necklace kits, 2x Boxes Colour Catcher (Fb)
  • When I won they called my house phone, they didnt leave a voicemail but I called them back the following day to tell me i'd won, they didnt block their number. I am sure they will do their upmost to ensure the orginal winner gets the prize. Even through email.
  • I contacted ITV once to ask how many entries they had into their competition but they told me they couldn't give an answer as it is commercially sensitive information. They could at least let us know if our odds are greater than winning the lottery...

Seeing as there have been quite a few ITV winners here over the years, and no mention of major lottery wins (to the best of my knowledge!) I think you can safely assume that's a 'yes' lol! :D

  • Great thread. I had also been wondering the same thing as I often enter the This Morning and Loose Women competitions online.

Does anyone know the telephone number that they ring you from? We have caller ID on our phones and to avoid cold callers we will often ignore numbers we don't recognise, but in doing so could lose out if by some miracle we should ever win a competition.

If anyone does remember the telephone ITV rang them on it would be very helpful ! :j

    Thanks.

I doubt very much if all the ITV calls would come from the same number, and while we all hate nuisance calls, it would seem a bit silly to enter lots of comps, while being reluctant to answer unrecognised numbers.
Certainly my two biggest wins - £5000 with ITV and a safari with the Mail were advised by phone, also Classic FM for one used to only phone, and some such as the Daily Mail handbag only ask for a phone number. In my experience most of the nasties withhold their number anyway, but that's not to say a prize provider might not do so as well.

From what I read, ITV wins seem to be an 0207 number but agree with db. Now I am entering competitions I would answer the phone. Only takes a second to say 'no, not interested' ;)

Wouldn't want to take the chance that I am missing a WTC.
