just had a creditor phone me up

Egg just called me to say my account is in arrears with them. i replied that i was having financial difficulties and that i was seeing the CAB, they wanted a ref number and i didn't get one.
i did say that whilst i had no money, there was a token payment on it's way to them to prove i was trying to pay what i own.

cool - sounds like you handled it well. Maybe next time you speak to CAB you can get a reference number to give them. Hopefully egg will update their system with the info and leave you alone for a bit but if they do get annoying then there is a letter you can send requesting all contact be in writing and if they still persist in harassing you then you can report them but fingers crossed for you.
